Sarah Queneau

I have always been drawn to anthropology because it helps us understand the many different ways people make sense of the world around them. As a cultural anthropologist and educator, I am especially interested in death and dying and the ways individuals, families, and communities make meaning of these universal experiences. My MA research explored how cultural approaches to death and dying can shape individual and community well-being, and this work continues to influence my teaching and scholarship. I hope to help make conversations about death more open and approachable while encouraging people to think critically about their own cultural beliefs and practices. Ultimately, I want my work to contribute to a greater understanding of death and dying and to help people approach these difficult but important topics with knowledge, curiosity, and compassion.
