Liam Espinoza-Zemlicka

Liam Espinoza-Zemlicka is a 3rd year PhD student at the University of California, Riverside. His research focusses on racial language ideologies, subject creation, and identity performance. His current project looks at the processes that go into planning and implementing Latinx centered comic book conventions in California and Texas and how these conventions challenge traditional performances of both comic book fan culture and Latinx identity. He has also participated in work with the Museum of the San Fernando Valley and assisted in research examining the government response to homelessness in Riverside, CA. He is an avid fiction writer and holds a BA in filmmaking, but hopes you won’t hold that against him.
