Julio Gonzalez is a documentary filmmaker, producer, photographer, and anthropologist whose work focuses on ethical storytelling, visual anthropology, and cultural documentation. He has conducted anthropological and documentary fieldwork throughout Latin America, including collaborative work with Indigenous communities in the Amazon focused on music, memory, and cultural continuity. His photography and production work spans documentary film, field documentation, portraiture, and black-and-white documentary imagery. Before transitioning fully into media production, Julio spent over two decades working in security and protective operations, including service in the United States Marine Corps. His experience operating in complex and remote environments continues to inform his approach to documentary production, field logistics, and ethically grounded storytelling practices. Julio holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Anthropology and an Associate’s degree in Social and Behavioral Science.
