Barbra Erickson

Barbra Erickson earned a PhD in Anthropology and a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology at the University of Nevada, Reno. She has been a professor of anthropology at California State University, Fullerton, since 2002 and was SWAA President in 2008 and 2024. Her research has focused on medical anthropology and gerontology, with a special interest in so-called alternative forms of health care and the history of medicine. Her dissertation was entitled “Toxin or Medicine? Incorporating Radioactive Radon Gas into the Therapeutic Process.” Aside from these topics, Barbra has a special passion for the study of parasites, insects, and paleopathology/forensics.
