April Mejia

April Mejia earned her Master’s in Anthropology at CSU Northridge based on an ethnographic study of symbolic ethnicity in the Los Angeles Irish American community. Her research and teaching interests include race, ethnicity, religion, forensic anthropology, and cultural ecology. Her current research project focuses on the division of the United Methodist Church. In addition to her role on the SWAA board, she currently serves as Co-Organizer for the California College Anthropology Teachers (CCAT) conference. She has taught anthropology at various Southern California Community Colleges, since 2013.
